From time to time Ozzy gets a treat. I put in a bowl next to his regular food and you'd think he'd eat it in the same way as always but no - he has to eat his treats outside of the bowl. So he picks it out with his paw - one at a time and eats it, preferably lying down...
Since it's the first time I do this kind of dyeing I just have to test knit a small piece. I wound the giant skein into one big ball of 245g last night when it had dried completely. Ozzy (the cat) had a great time dashing in and out under the skein pretending attacks just to tease me and having a great time running away every time I scolded him ;-)
I used 3,5mm knitting needles and knitted in the round.
The light this time of year is not great and since there was a blizzard outside yeasterday I had to resort to using the flash. But I took some without as well...
It's been hard for me to sit still today. Yesterday it was decided that I will be a part of "Stickfest i vast" exhibiting and selling my wool on the market square during the weekend of 16th - 17th of March next year.
It's so exciting!!!
And so much to prepare and plan - Banner to make, wool to dye, yarn to spin - I just love it.
Started this morning by ordering a big bunch of wool from England so it will be here when we get back from Spain. I'd better enjoy my leisure for the next three weeks for after we get back It'll be all work and no play. Well acctually, dyeing wool is play and a lot of fun, but it takes time...
And also I will be there for the entire weekend. I've only participated in a workshop or two before and only made a daytrip of it. This year it will be in Gottskars hotell, beautifully situated by the sea about 40km south of Gothenburg. It'll be lovely whatever the weather.
I'm so looking forward to this.
Time to and put some wool in the dye pot - see you :-)
It was a bit fiddly and took a lot longer than I expected but I'm very pleased with the result. It's not completely dry yet and still remains rewinding, measuring and weighing before they're on display in the Shop.
This was my original inspiration
And this is the result - not quite dry yet and not great light for taking photos but still - not bad...
Ok - so I've decided that for this blog to live on I need to make some changes.
The first and greatest change will be the language. I will be refering to this blog as a place for news and updates regarding Willow Fairy Wool for those who are not on FB and therefore it needs to be in English.
I hope you can all live with that and I might as well apologise in advance for any grammatical mistakes and misspellings I will make in the future...
Life is to be enjoyed. And I enjoy wool – spinning, dyeing, knitting, wearing it – I’m quite simply a woolly sort of person. I like my wool soft and cuddly although I believe there’s a purpose for every kind of wool.
Speaking of soft wool, my cat is very soft and cuddly too and I spin his wool as well. While I do all of these things (and more) I drink countless cups of tea and eat quite a bit of chocolate. Most of the time I forget my tea until it’s cold, so often in fact I’ve started to like cold tea.
I forget my tea and the time for my head is full of ideas and inspiration that just have to come out. Most of my inspiration comes from nature, the sea, the forest, flowers, rocks and more. Even on a rainy day there is always something pretty to be seen if you just look. So come in to my world and see what I see and enjoy yourself for a while.
